ESA Pass is not a government agency and no official emotional support animal registry exists, including ours. Our certificate and ID card are convenience products with no independent legal force. They do not entitle an emotional support animal to the rights and privileges accorded by law to a guide, signal, or service dog, and they are not a substitute for a letter from a licensed health care professional, which is what a housing provider may ask for. Knowingly and fraudulently representing yourself as the owner or trainer of a guide, signal, or service dog is a misdemeanor under California Penal Code §365.7 and unlawful in many other states.

Sample card. Biscuit and Maya are not real.

What the certificate shows

Your pet's name, photo, species, breed, color and birthday, your name as handler, your city and state, the registration number, the date it was issued and the date the listing runs through, plus a QR code to the verification page.

It's sized for a standard letter frame. The Complete Kit adds a printed copy on heavy paper, mailed free in the U.S.

Certificate or certification?

People search for both. There is no official ESA certification in the U.S., and no exam or agency behind one. What exists is a letter from a licensed health professional, which is what housing providers may ask for, and private registrations like ours, which record your pet and give it a card and certificate.

We're clear about which one we sell.

Questions people ask

Is an ESA certificate a legal document?

No. It's a certificate of a private registration. It doesn't grant legal rights, and no law requires one.

Does my landlord have to accept it?

No. A registration is not an ESA letter. Under the Fair Housing Act, what a housing provider may ask for is a letter from a licensed health professional who knows you. We don't write those. Many people carry a card alongside their letter for everyday convenience.

Can I see a sample first?

Yes. The sample page shows the certificate and both sides of the wallet card exactly as they arrive.
